As we enter year 2012, consecrate ourselves to God to bring freshness & newness to our life. “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19) Times of refreshing and newness from God come when we make a consecration to God.
It is time to deal with all kinds of sin that bog us down.
The pre requisite for your breakthrough and miraculous living in 2012 is consecration. (Jos. 3:1-5)
Consecration involves the heart. We do not know our heart. We will only fully know the true condition of our hearts when we are pushed into a corner. It is then that the ugly side of us is revealed. God is the only one that can search our hearts. (Jer. 17:9)
Out of the heart of man comes forth evil and defiles the man. (Mark 7:21)
Guard your heart with all diligence. (Prov. 4:23)
How many want a brand new heart? (Ezekiel 36:26-30) God will give us a new heart. (This is consecration) God will put a new spirit within us. God will remove the heart of stone, give a heart of flesh.
Will you have a consecrated life? The purpose of the 21 day fasting is to deal with our heart. It is dangerous to be a Christian! Why? Because when the heart is consecrated, God can move any time. 3 components of consecration:
1) A new heart. (Ps. 51:10-13)
I need a new heart. Cry out to God for the new heart.
2) A new spirit is a right spirit. (Ps. 51:10)
Bitterness results when issues and relationships are not resolved. (Heb. 12:15) There are many spiritual ‘hurt-me-not’ walking around. It is time to let go the people you are not forgiving, and let go of the bitterness.
3) A Heart of flesh – of obedience to God.
The Potter has the freedom to shape the clay. (1Sam 15) (Ps. 51: 17) Give Jesus the freedom to make whatever he wants out of us. Come before Him with a contrite heart. (Psalm 51:17) (Matthew 5:8)
Is it true that it is more difficult for older people to change?
Let us deal with the sin in our lives before the sin deals with us. (Num. 32:33) Your sin will find you out. The plan and the consequence of sin have not changed.
‘My God, why have you forsaken Me.’ (Matt. 27:46) God could not hear, but the Father heart of God was crying out, but the God in the Father refuses. God hates sin.
God’s arm is not short to save; our sins have separated us from God. God will not hear us. (Isa. 59:1-2)
Don’t go to God to ask for His understanding of your sin, God will not hear you. The purpose of sin is death. (Rom.6:23)
Some of us have lost our spiritual zeal and sensitivity. When someone is in need, we criticize them instead of helping them. Our conviction towards sin has been liberalized.
Grace is forgiveness, truth is repentance. Grace cannot be received without truth. The joy of our heart has ceased, dance turned to mourning, we have sinned, our heart is faint, our eyes grow dim, (our conscience is seared) (Lam. 5:15-17)
God is faithful to forgive if we confess our sins.
Let’s not enter into 2012 with the sin of 2011. This is a heart call to walk the path of righteousness, come out of sin.
Not everyone who say to Me ‘Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matt. 7:21-23) Lawlessness is living in your sin, quietly.
