PURPOSE:

1. Time is too short (Eph 5:16)

2. Eternity is real (John 14:6; Matt 7:13)

3. Death is sure (Eccl 3:1; Heb 9:27)

We all have an expiry date.

Do not resist your difficult circumstances. If you resist you won’t receive my grace. My grace will be sufficient for you.

Ps. 84:11 God will be your sun and shield . . . .

John 9:4 -5

2Cor. 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, in weakness my strength will be made perfect.

  Part sermon by Jonathan C.

John 4:34 The account of the Samaritan woman at the well. The spirit of God is telling us that it is good to do the things of God. But it is dangerous not to do the work of God – like the disciples going to buy food!

It is important to listen to what the Spirit of God is saying. People are dying; we have a huge responsibility for our generation. We need to lift our eyes to see the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few.

Jesus (Matt. 9:27) said harvest is ripe, but the labourers are few. The intensity of sin is increasing. Lawlessness is becoming like nothing. Wow! Unto me if I don’t preach the gospel. (Matt. 9:27) Jesus saw the people lost; he was moved with compassion for the lost. The heart beat of God is for the lost. We as children of God and we need to rise up and be soul winners. Wherever we are, we can do the work of an evangelist. Time is short, he’ll and heaven is real and death is sure.

Rev. 20:7-10

After 1000 years, Satan will be released on the earth. (vs. 10) Satan was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were tormented day and night. Hell was never meant for humans, but for the beast, false prophet, Satan and one third of the fallen angels. Hell is a lake of fire, burning of sulphur, a place of extreme heat. (Mark 9:44) Worms don’t die and fire is not quenched.

Many of our loved ones, friends are headed for hell. Eternity is real and time is short. Why do people go to hell? (Matt7:13)

John 3:16-18 God did not send his son to condemn the world, but whoever does not receive Jesus is already condemned.

Why do people go to hell?

1) They are spiritually blind. (Rom. 1:21-24)

The world is ready to believe the doctrine of hell from religion rather than the Bible.   Taoist burn all sorts of things / hell notes to the death believing that the death can receive / use them in hell. The Catholics believe Purgatory is a place for the dead in transition to heaven. Muslims believe in praying for the dead to find their way to heaven.

2) We the church has failed.

We have failed because we think there is enough time. (John 4:35) Time is short; we need to reach our loved ones and neighbours while there is time. We have no power to control death; hence we have no control when a person dies. Each human has an expiry date. (Eccles.3:1-2) We don’t have time.

We have the power to change a person’s destiny by the power of the Word. David said in Ps. 73:18 he discovered the feet of the ungodly are on slippery ground and their fate is doomed for destruction. This includes some of our loved ones. The message of salvation is invalid in heaven. Open your mouth and share the gospel.

We have failed. We look at people as people. Jesus looked at people as souls, naked, headed for hell. (Matt. 9:35-38) Jesus saw the multitude with his disciples, Jesus was moved with compassion. (Rom 6:23) (Eph. 1:7)

Apart from the blood of Jesus there is neither atonement nor forgiveness of sin. We need to learn to look at people as souls lost, headed for hell.

The destiny of our loved ones is a breath away. We can open our mouth and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Do not squander this opportunity. Let your light shine for Christ. Woe unto us if we do not preach Jesus.

Ministry is about preaching the gospel to the lost. Jesus died not only for me, but for everyone, for every human.

Lord renew our passion for the lost. Endure persecution and do the work of an evangelist. Do not remain silent, work while there is still time. Pray for our family, loved ones, shed tears for them, while there is still time. Once they slip into eternity, their blood is on our hands if we did not warn them.
