Christian Education

Christian Education Ministry is the training arm of the church to instruct believers in the Bible, God’s manual for Christian living and preparation for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Believers can be equipped at two levels; at the local level and through distant learning with Global University, USA
The aim is to give every believer the opportunity to receive instruction in the Word of God to be Christ’s ambassadors to reconcile people to God. (2Cor. 5:18-20). Those who have received this instruction and are suitably qualified with the passion to instruct others in God’s Word can be trained as facilitators to help others to learn.
Believers can be involved in this on going education work as curriculum designers, back up support in prayer and administration and as teams to support the smaller outreaches that need equipping. Contact CEM Co ordinator (Sis. Nancy 016 7061010) for more details

‘Equip, Grow, Go’ (EGG)
This ministry is focused on feeding God’s lambs and sheep (John 21:15 – 17). We need to know God’s heart in order to be Christ’s ambassadors to reconcile people to God. (2Cor. 5:18-20)
- Equip:
The Bible is our authority and source of what is taught in knowledge, skills and attitude to enable believers to grow holistically. Equipping can be conducted at various levels; informal one-to-one, group interaction and formal structured classes. - Grow:
The knowledge taught from the Bible will be supported with practical skills of reading God’s Word, prayer, worship, giving to God, joining activities involving God’s family and to find our place of service in His local church and to be part of the vision of the local church. These practical activities encourage healthy growth. - Go:
Winning souls is our responsibility for God has given us His new life so that we may pass this life to others. Believers will learn skills of reaching out to our community to share the good news of Jesus Christ. By this we will fulfil God’s desire for us; to love God with all of our hearts, soul, mind and strength (Matthew 22:37) and to ‘love our neighbour as ourselves’ (Luke 10:27).

Discipling
Christian Education Ministry works closely with the various ministries in the church to develop discipling material for the systematic growth of believers from the very young as in Children’s Church to Youths, to Young Adults and the adult church members; including the new believers and growing believers of the church. The aim is to lay strong biblical foundations and to grow the believers in Christian character to withstand the enticement of compromise and falsehood.
The commands of Jesus still guides the discipling efforts; ‘teaching them to obey all the commands that Christ has given us.’ (Matt. 28:20)

Training of facilitators
Believers with a passion to instruct others in the Word of God and who do meet the requirements of church leadership will be trained in the skill of facilitating adult learning in the Bible.Facilitators go beyond the skill of teaching by ‘telling’. Facilitators involve learners to actively participate in their own learning. Learning will go beyond the acquiring of knowledge; it will cover spiritual, mental, emotional and physical growth. Facilitators are interactive and practical to involve learners’ whole being.
